The Friends of The Family Home Health Care Team

Rebekah LaFontaine

Position: Owner

Along with being the owner of Friends of the Family, Rebekah wears many hats, both personally and professionally. She is married to Paul LaFontaine, pastor of Literal Life Church in Ottawa Lake, Mi. She is the mother of four children and was a home-school mom before starting with Friends of the Family seven years ago. She is very involved in her husband's ministry, singing, missions to Central America and Philippines. They have co-hosted an annual Winter Youth Retreat for over 20 years.

Rebekah feels that caring for the elders is more than a job, it's a ministry. "I feel that our elders should be honored and cared for with the highest respect. I believe their families need support and encouragement as loved ones go through difficult physical situations. Our team desires to provide a relief and support during the aging process so that loved ones may remain in their homes surrounded by those that love them, with the support that they need. Elders have thrived, physically and emotionally, when they can remain in their home, rather than being placed in a facility."

Sheri LaFontaine

Position: Marketing Manager

Sheri LaFontaine is relatively new to the company, but she is no stranger to working with seniors. In her 4 years at WPOS Christian Radio, she did several Senior bus trips and made many dear friends along the way, some of whom are now clients of Friends of the Family. "I truly love people and try to show that in all I do."

Aside from her work in marketing, she is a world-renowned singer and on the weekends, often finds herself on stage or in a recording studio. She also loves spending time with her two dogs, Miss Abbey and George Bailey.

Lacey Jewell

Position: Scheduling Manager

Lacey celebrated 1 year with the company on Feb 4 of 2017. She has the difficult job of making sure every shift is covered and even fills in herself when the need arises. The clients are the thing that keeps her coming back with a smile. "The best compliment I've ever received from a client came when I was filling in for a missed shift. The client and I got a long so well, I asked to come back every day after that."

And her favorite way to spend a day off? "Spending the day at the park with my wonderful kids."

Beth Anne Varney

Position: Care Coordinator and Dementia Specialist

Beth Anne is in her third year with Friends of the Family and is responsible for the initial assessment of clients, making her the very first smile you see. She has had many clients and potential clients speak of her genuine care and compassion shown. When asked, what she thinks the best part of the job is, she answered, "Helping Clients and their families adjust to and successfully navigate the home health care journey. Giving them the much-needed information that no one on their journey has taken the time to give them. They are very appreciative."

On her time off she enjoys spending time with her family. She also states that she looks forward to annual reunions on Washington Island, WI.

Jennifer Cranford

Position: HR Manager

Jennifer has been with the company since October of 2013. She handles all the hiring of new caregivers and also helps in making sure all shifts are covered. She has an amazing connection with both the staff and the clients. "The best part of the job," she states, "is knowing that I've really helped someone and made a difference in their day.". And when asked what she loves to hear from the clients? "The best compliment I receive is being asked if I could come back. Then I know I've done a good job and that they liked me." Her time away from the office is usually spent with her family.

Cindy Alexander

Position: Staffing Assistant

Cindy has been with the company for two years now and is a great asset to the team. When asked what she likes most about working for Friends of the Family, she answers, "I love working with a good group of gals. But the best thing is the hugs from the clients, when you've helped them out."

And her favorite thing to do when she's not on the clock? "Spending time with family...with the girls, researching my family tree, traveling, crocheting, cooking, so many things!"

Haley Sinacola

Position: Office & Billing Assistant

Although Haley has only been with the company one year, she has taken on many tasks. Many times, she will be the sweet voice you'll hear when you call. Haley plans to attend nursing school and feels that this job is wonderful training.

She loves meeting the clients and they love her as well. What she hears the most from them is how kind and pretty she is. "They certainly know how to make my day," she says. "I love helping others and being a light, anyway that I can." A day off means being with her family or youth group. She loves the outdoors and walking her dog in the park.
