About the Company
Geoff Scott is the founder and President of
Friends of the Family, LLC. Geoff was employed as a police officer when his
Grandmother was admitted into a nursing home with the diagnosis of Alzheimers.
Shortly after her admission she was severely abused by a staff member so she was
admitted into another nursing home. Shortly after that; the same thing, and
unfortunately the abuse continued onto a 3rd home. Although Geoff's Grandmother
passed away a short time later, the pictures in his mind along with a lot of
guilt did not.
Geoff realizes that all nursing homes are not to
blame, and as a matter of fact, many are great when the time is right. Geoff
wants to give everyone who "isn't quite ready" for a nursing home the
opportunity to experience superb home health care in the privacy of their own
home. He wanted to provide an honest service to individuals who needed health
care assistance. When Geoff graduated nursing school he realized his dream of
becoming the best nurse he could be, working with the elite staff of surgery at
St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee, Ohio and then going on to own the premier home
health company in the region. Having ten years of experience in the medical
industry, Geoff developed Friends of the Family, LLC based on the premise that a
group of trustworthy and caring employees could offer the best home health care
assistance to clients in need.
Their healthcare professionals are hand-picked
and trained by the Geoff himself. Employees must pass numerous tests, including
background checks, drug screening, finger-printing, reference checks, and CPR
certification. Friends of the Family, LLC, is not a franchise. Locally owned and
operated, most tasks are performed by the owner, including taking phone calls,
scheduling appointments, dealing with any concerns or changes that may arise and
providing complimentary in-home Assessments. The company is licensed, insured,
and bonded to provide worry-free service. No contract is required, and there is
no minimum or maximum duration of service. Geoff is married with two children,
and has a passion for helping others.
